Wellness Activities

Wellness Services

Our BLOOM Wellness and Empowerment Program offers a wide variety of wellness activities and classes in a familiar and supportive environment including flu shots, vaccine clinics, dental vans, first aid, nutrition, support groups, budgeting, yoga, writing, sewing, blood pressure checks, foot care, and creative arts.

Rose Haven’s BLOOM classes and activities are designed to create community, and help our guests connect over something other than the challenging circumstances that bring them to the shelter. These activities help empower our guests by giving them opportunities to learn, be creative, heal, and socialize.

Due to COVID-19 we have had to limit our activates to socially distant events. We look forward to resuming indoor activities in our new home in 2022. If you have an idea for a class or activity you’d like to bring to Rose Haven, please contact Heather Hilligoss, our Program Director. hhilligoss@rosehaven.org

Our Nursing and First Aid station is where guests can access PPE and basic medical supplies that help tend to things like wounds or pains. Nursing students compassionately listen to guests’ health-related questions and provide basic medical advice. These are also opportunities to further our guests’ health literacy, therefore we educate and provide supplies that help combat different challenges like how to keep hydrated, wound cleaning tips, and public health news. Nurses are available outdoors under a canopy tent and have a strong focus on providing PPE supplies and keeping guests educated about COVID-19.

Our current nursing school partners are: University of Portland , Clackamas Community College, and Concordia St Paul University.

Dental Van and Vaccine Clinics are also offered. Check our community calendar for upcoming events!
