A Return to Indoor Services

Rose Haven’s new facility allows us to bring services back inside after two years of operating outdoors during the covid-19 pandemic, and we are going to need volunteers now more than ever! Our indoor service model offers direct service opportunities Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, and organizational support from Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

The first step to getting started volunteering with Rose Haven is to fill out the volunteer application (please click the Volunteer Application button).

After you complete your application, we will email you an invitation to an in-person volunteer orientation.

Direct Service Volunteer Opportunities: Monday-Friday, 9 am – 12 pm, and Tuesday-Thursday 1 pm – 3 pm
  • Kitchen: Prep food for guests in our new warming kitchen.
  • Kitchen Runner: Run freshly made dishes to the dining area.
  • Food Table: Serve food and beverages to our guests in the designated dining area.
  • Supply Runner: Work with staff at the hospitality desk to gather supplies for guests, including emergency outfits for those not eligible to shop. Assist with supervising use of the laundry area.
  • Clothing Shop: Assist guests with their monthly 20 minute shopping visit.
  • Shower & Wellness Desk: Assist with cleaning showers between uses, and providing hygiene supplies. Help guests access secure storage space for carts, strollers and other large items.
  • Guest Services: Assist staff at the front desk with bringing our mail, answering phones, and other admin tasks.

Organizational Help: Flexible Hours

  • Donation Support: Sorting donations, restocking the shop, etc. 2 morning spots and 6 afternoon spots available.
  • Donation Reception: Assist with receiving donations at our exclusive donation dropoff door, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-4:00 pm. Help carry donations in if needed, offer receipts and tours.
  • Data Entry & Admin Support: Help with admin tasks, supporting the development team or volunteer manager.
  • Development & Events Committee: Support our development team with event planning and fundraising. This is a great opportunity for folks who are looking for evening and weekend opportunities!
  • In-Kind Donation Drive: Organize a donation drive in your community to collect underwear, leggings, hygiene supplies… the possibilities are limitless!

Corporate Helping:

  • Corporate Volunteer Groups are welcome into our space 1-2 times a week for tasks such as donation sorting, cleaning, and hygiene kit assembly
  • We can usually accommodate up to 12 people – for larger groups, let us know and we can be flexible
  • Volunteer Group Hours are Friday afternoons from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Sometimes we can accommodate for Wednesday afternoons as well
  • Our schedule for groups fills up quickly in the Spring and Winter months during the holidays – we typically have more Fridays and Wednesdays open in the Summer. If your group would like to volunteer for a Holiday event, reach out and schedule a date early!
