Position Description: Shower Program Coordinator
Immediate Opening
Full time: 40 hours/week
Reports to: Program Director

Rose Haven is seeking a passionate, outgoing, responsible, and experienced professional to provide
oversight to the shower program at Rose Haven. The Shower Program Coordinator is the primary staff
person responsible for the operations of the shower program including daily oversight of sign-ups, guest
access, set-up and breakdown of shower facilities, preparing and cleaning the shower room for the next
guest, managing supplies and laundry, and utilizing conflict management skills when necessary.  In
addition, this position assists hospitality and guest services as needed, and provides staff oversight to
special spa activities hosted by volunteer partners.

Key Responsibilities:
 Supports women and children utilizing the shower facilities by maintaining an organized,
sanitary and safe space for each use
 Maintains a timely and efficient program by keeping guests on schedule with their shower
 Creates and maintains a safe and clean environment
 Promotes principles of trauma informed care, conflict management, person-centered approach
and treating all individuals with dignity and respect
 Upholds a creative, team-centric and cooperative approach to Rose Haven guest services and
job performance, and aims to contribute a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks
 Works with and supports volunteers assisting with the shower program
 Participates in regular staff meetings
 Works with BLOOM Program Coordinator to provide oversight of spa related activities for guests
by volunteers including haircuts, manicures, make-up sessions and facials
 Maintains an awareness of the agency’s mission and work
 Models positive behavior, leads by example and remains calm in times of crisis
 Maintains a professional level of performance, demeanor and appearance at all times
 Exercises discretion and professional judgment at all times in keeping with the responsibilities of
the position carried out personally and by the agency for the care and welfare of women,
children, families and staff
 Program support as needed in hospitality and guest services
 Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Qualifications:
● Experience working with marginalized communities, specifically those experiencing
homelessness, as well as those who may have mental health challenges
● Proven ability to form positive relationships with guests, staff and volunteers
● Demonstrated problem solving, conflict mediation, boundary setting and crisis management
● Ability to be firm and assertive in a respectful manner

● Able to speak, read, and write and understand English
● Ability to bend, carry and lift (25lbs) for set-up and clean-up of facilities
● Strong understanding of/commitment to Rose Haven’s mission of supporting and empowering
women and children experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
● Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented organization
● Commitment to racial equity and social justice, welcoming any guest who identifies as a woman,
including transgender and gender-variant individuals
● Demonstrated ability to exhibit compassion, understanding and empathy while working with
diverse staff and guests in a multicultural environment
● Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed
This position is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. $17 per hour. Generous medical and dental, paid
