Why Rose Haven Closes for Staff Wellness
At Rose Haven, caring for our community starts with caring for the people who serve it every day.
Twice each year, Rose Haven pauses guest services for a one-week Staff Wellness Closure. During these planned closures, employees receive paid time away from work to rest, recharge, and focus on their own wellbeing. This practice is part of Rose Haven’s commitment to preventing burnout and supporting the long-term sustainability of our team.
Our staff members work alongside women, children, and gender-diverse people experiencing homelessness, poverty, trauma, and crisis. Providing compassionate, trauma-informed care requires emotional resilience, presence, and energy. By creating dedicated time for restoration, we help ensure that our team can continue showing up with the care, empathy, and professionalism our guests deserve.
The Staff Wellness Closure is one component of Rose Haven’s broader employee wellness approach, which also includes regular emotional debriefs and other wellbeing supports. These investments recognize that healthy staff are essential to providing high-quality services and maintaining a strong, resilient organization.
We appreciate our community’s understanding during these temporary closures and look forward to welcoming guests back when services resume on July 6!
