Talk Title: How Optimism, Time Blindness, and a Fear of Opinions Made Me an Entrepreneur
Talk Description: A personal story about how being overly optimistic, time-blind, and conflict-avoidant actually became secret superpowers—fueling creativity, risk-taking, and a deeper trust in her ability to build something new.
The purpose of this talk is to show that unlikely or even “flawed” traits can be part of what drives a hero forward—that you don’t have to be perfectly planned or fiercely opinionated to create change. You can build a movement even if your younger self just wanted everyone to love each other.
As a teenager, she tried to hide her real opinions to keep the peace. She thought leaders had to be loud, opinionated, and confrontational, and she didn’t see herself that way. Over time, optimism (even when it made no logical sense) and time-blindness (the blessing of not realizing how big something was) allowed her to leap into her life. She’ll tell the story of starting Be Well Baby and creating the Beyond Birth Blueprint— not because she had a “master plan,” but because she kept moving forward and investing in herself when the success of her business seemed impossible and overwhelming to everyone around her.
Emily’s Bio:
Dr. Emily Spaeth is the founder and CEO of Be Well Baby, a Portland-based home-visit and virtual practice reimagining peripartum healthcare. As a doctor of physical therapy and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with a background in the NICU, Emily brings a rare blend of clinical expertise and visionary leadership to her work. She’s on a mission to bridge the gaps in prenatal, postpartum, and early infant care by centering families, nervous systems, and what truly matters. Her business is grounded in a deep reverence for bodies and babies, and a belief that early support—like the first latch and reflex development—shapes a lifetime. Emily is also a passionate educator, committed to reshaping perinatal care through interdisciplinary collaboration and bold, heart-led entrepreneurship.
Talk Title: You Don’t Need to Hustle Harder—You Need to Come Home to Yourself
Talk Description: We’ve been taught to equate success with exhaustion—especially as women. But the truth is, your body is not a machine to push harder. It’s a compass. A guide. And in a world of endless doing, the boldest move you can make is coming home to yourself.
In this short, immersive talk, trauma-informed somatic practitioner Alicia Johnson shares how healing her relationship with her body transformed not only her business—but her entire life. Blending raw storytelling with a simple guided somatic exercise, she invites you to reconnect with your inner “yes,” regulate your nervous system, and shift from overdrive into embodied alignment.
This is for the woman who’s done chasing worthiness through hustle—and ready to feel powerful, present, and rooted in her own truth.
Alicia’s Bio:
Alicia Johnson is a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, empowerment coach, and healing dance guide who helps women break free from burnout, shame, and old survival patterns—and come home to their bodies, their truth, and their power.
After surviving narcissistic abuse, years of people-pleasing, and living completely disconnected from her own needs, Alicia spent over a decade reclaiming herself through somatic healing, psychology, and movement. What started as a personal healing journey became a mission: to help other women feel safe in their bodies, trust their inner wisdom, and express themselves fully—without apology, performance, or hustle.
Today, she leads powerful virtual and in-person experiences that blend nervous system work, intuitive movement, and bold self-expression. Her work is raw, rebellious, and deeply empowering—creating sober-friendly, shame-free spaces for women to reconnect with who they really are beneath the noise.
