Rose Haven Holiday Extravaganza for 449 Kids on December 20th
Fox 12/ Les Schwab Toy Drive and KGW Great Toy Drive provided the toys with the help of donors from throughout the community. Hundreds of volunteers provided overwhelming support, and we hosted our annual Children’s Holiday Extravaganza for 449 kids from 139 families on Friday, December 20th.
We were hosted by The Eleanor, had a wonderful meal catered by The Portland Hostel , Commissary Cafe, and World Cup Coffee. We also enjoyed a photo-booth from Earth Fairy Entertainment with special appearances from Santa Claus himself as well as Keeva the Unicorn Queen;
and a performance by the Grant High School Royal Blues Choir – all culminating in our gift giveaway and raffle!
We are so grateful to everyone in the community who made this possible. These parties were a result of more than 80 groups and businesses who hosted collections for us over the past few months in order to provide brand new holiday gifts for the entire Rose Haven community.
If you are inspired by this radical giving, please get involved by volunteering or making a gift to Rose Haven today.
Annual Holiday Tea Party Hosted by NCL on December 13th
On December 13th we hosted our annual Holiday Tea Party as part of our BLOOM Wellness and Empowerment Programs. Every year the National Charity League provides a wonderful meal and hosts a party for the women and gender-diverse people of Rose Haven.
For months, the staff at Rose Haven bring together the community to collect gifts distributed at this extravaganza. Thanks to your donations, we were able to celebrate and provide holiday gifts for 121 women that day.
A local women’s group called Get Up and Give Back and West Hills Racquet Club continued their tradition of providing purses. We loaded them with beauty products from Pacifica, DoTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and Thrive Causemetics. We also included brand new fleece blankets, gloves a Starbucks gift card and more from Chown Hardware, Mary Brown, Dr Tam and her team at Providence Tea and Talk as well as many more merry donors.
Of course, we carried on our tradition of having the greatest raffle around, where everyone is a winner! Our guests won big in the raffle, hauling off a 55″ TV, as well as various jewelry, skin care and self care treats.
What better way to celebrate the season than by sharing a meal with your community. We ate, we laughed, we raffled and merry times were had by all.
Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who helped us collect brand new items over the past few months to make this celebration possible.
If you have not had a chance to contribute to these celebrations, please consider making a gift before midnight to support Rose Haven’s programs. We receive no government funding and cannot continue our work without your help.
